the ocean is fun

Saturday I went to the beach with Ryan, Jessica and her friend Chris who was here from Texas. I haven't had that much fun at the beach in a long time. We ate some alright seafood then headed to the beach, where Jessica and I have been deemed crazy. We started in the bay, where the water was frickin cold. Then we walked the beach towards the ocean. Had to show the Texan what the Pacific was like. So we did a little wave jumping that got intense. Jessica had a wave take her out and then a few minutes later I was laid flat by one. The only difference between me and Jessica was that there's pictures of me being taken out. It was so much fun. Then we drive back and were just obnoxious for the heck of it! I really haven't had that much fun at the beach. I haven't truely gotten to play on the beach, let alone in the water, for a long time. Now I'm excited to go back!

graduation approaches

This next week is going to be crazy and overly exciting all at the same time. I'm in Bend right now about to attend my cousins graduation, tomorrow we are having mine and Jimmie's grad party (from 12-5 if anyone wants to attend), Jimmie's graduation on Monday and then I graduate on Saturday. I have a seminar to attend all day monday, where I will be getting my worksample back with my scores. I haven't gotten a phone call from my supervisor so I hope that means I don't have to make any changes. Then I am at the elementary school in Salem Tuesday and Wednesday, then I just have to wait until my graduation! I'm so excited, yet the idea of being a graduate hasn't truly sunk in yet.

I decided to turn down the handful of jobs I was offered from out of state. For now I think I want to stay more local for a couple years and then pack my bags and move. I've been applying to a lot of Salem, Corvallis and Albany jobs. Guess I'll just have to hang tight and wait now, which is the worst part of the whole process.

Looking forward to my exciting week and then I will have all kinds of time on my hands to go out and being having a fabulous summer. Hopefully I will manage to spend more time with people that I haven't gotten to in the last few months!

So, I leave tomorrow at the crack of dawn to go to Idaho. It should be an interesting trip to say the least. I have someone I'm staying with, but I will have a lot of time to wander around the town by myself and get lost. I'm looking forward to an exciting two days!

whirlwind of life

So, my life has been crazy during the last week. It all started when I went to the teaching job fair on Tuesday. I had a lot of interviews that I think went alright. I did a second interview with Corvallis that day, and a school in Idaho called me back for an interview on Wednesday. So ladida go back on Wednesday for my interview. Was going with the ok, so if I do well then I'll turn in my appication in the next couple weeks and they'll probably really consider me. Insdtead I got a major shock. They offered me a job to teach third grade at one of the elementary schools. I almost fell out of the chair when I got the offer. So now I'm trying to rearrange my schedule to fly to idaho to look at the school, meet with the principle, and check out the town. SO my head is spinning the whole car ride home. I was excited to have an offer, but I also am not a huge fan of southern idaho. BUt then it gets even more crazy.

Ryan called my on the way home with more news. I had talked with his mom the night before sense she works for the Corvallis school district and she wanted to know how it went and so on, especially sense I had a second interview in Corvallis. I was under the impression by the looks of things that Corvallis had done a lot of second interviews that day. Well Karen, ryan's mom found out that almost 3000 people were at the fair adn corvallis did 40 second interviews. This shocked me enough, and most those interviews were for secondary level jobs. So Karen asked about me and the human resource lady knew exactly who I was, as far as I know I never actually met her. I only talked with a male principle. But she said they loved my interview and are very interested in me. Karen mentioned that I was going for a second interview with Nampa, and the lady's response was tell her not to sign anything yet, we need to talk with her too. So this made me feel really good, especially knowing how hard it is to get a teachign job in Corvallis.

So I have these two places that seem to be interested. There are still a few other places I need to apply to that I talked with at the job fair. There's one that I would love to get in Wyoming. It would be in Afton, and during my interview with the superintendent I wanted the job even more. Things have been completely crazy, not knowing what to do, if I want to stay or want to go. I didn't expect to even have a job offer this early in the game and don't know what to think.

So that has been my life. Trying to make some big decisions. Need to call the Nampa rep back to schedule a day to visit and meet with the principle from the school. Arrange flights, all kind of fun stuff. And arrange it with me trying to do all of my student teaching in salem. So I know this was a way longer post than I normally post, but I needed to get it out in some way.

relieved

So, an actual update. Wow. Well I spend sunday stressed out because I had 8 papers still to write for Wednesday. These papers range from 2 pages to 13 pages. I couldn't see an end in sight. Well its tuesday and all of those papers are done. Two a friend is editing right now, but there basically done. It doesn't take that long to make the corrections. I am so excited. I have two classes to attend tomorrow and turn in my papers, including my work sample. I'm so glad to have it done. I just have to wait until my meeting on Tuesday to know for sure if it passes or not. But after tomorrow it's out of my hands so I will enjoy my time. This means that my spring break starts tomorrow when I hand that binder in around 3 o'clock!! That's two and a half weeks for Spring break! Granted I have to meet with my professor on the 20th for about 20 minutes. I think I can sacrafice this time.

As a way to celebrate my spring break starting I'm having a jewelry and make-up party at my house. I think it will be a lot of fun. Have a handful of people who have said they will come, so it should be a lot of fun. There's going to prizes, food, and friends!

I'm housesitting for my aunt and uncle in Salem for the week. It's nice having the place to myself, well there are two giant monsters that live there too! It's nice because I don't have as many distractions there. I don't have a much clothes there so I can't advoid homework by doing tons of laundry. My cousin comes by too, so I get to see her and meet some of her friends. It's not to bad of a deal the two of us have going. We get to hang out in a big house with a nice stereo system. I did wake up yesterday and find ants in the kitchen. Not excited about that, went to the store and got some ant killer.

My dad, brother and I are taking a dpring break together this year. It should be a lot of fun. We are going to Plush (by the Oregon/Nevada border) and spend time with my dad's college buddy. He's a kick in the pants, I should burn tons of calories just by laughing. I'm really excited to go. We are also hunting coyotes and rabbits. I am really looking forward to getting to go. My brother went a couple of years ago and had a blast. My turn to join the fun.

I hope everyone has a good dead week and does well on your finals. I should be pretty open next week if someone is interested in doing something. Just give me a call!

How Smart Is Your Right Foot?
This is so funny that it will boggle your mind.
And, you will keep trying it at least 50 more times to see if you can outsmart
your foot. But you can't!!!

1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make
clockwise circles with it.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in
the air with your right hand.. Your foot will change
direction!!!

And there is nothing you can do about it. Make
sure you pass this on to your friends... They won't be able to believe it either!!!

Christmas was pretty good. I got some pretty cool gifts from people. I'm super excited with the gifts that my dad gave me. He got me a wireless adaptor for my computer, so now I don't always have to use the desktop for internet! He also gave my mom and me gift cards to The Retreat day spa! We're so excited, next week we're getting an hour sweedish message and a half hour facial! So super excited. Got other cool stuff too, but don't feel like listing it all. Saturday after work I'm going to Salem to celebrate christmas with my moms family. That should be fun, once I actually get there.

I have today and tomorrow off from work! Pretty excited about that. Been going to the club a lot this break, I've been pretty proud of myself for that. I'm going going again here in just a few minutes. The break hasn't been to bad. Not quite what I had expected, haven't had as much time to relax as I was hoping, but it hasn't been to bad. I still have just over a week before school starts and I'm going to milk it for all it's worth!

Hope everyone has an enjoyable holiday and happy new year!

funny who you run into

It's funny who you can run into when you're killing time in the computer lab. I just ran into a girl that I have had some classes with a year ago. She's the term ahead of me in the ed. program. It's fun just catching up and shooting the breeze. It made my day better. I'm about to do my exit interview, and get critizied on my work sample. I can handle that.

Been fun being sick and going to the doctor to get poked and proded. Now I have to just wait and see what the tests show. I'm not having fun being sick, I called in sick yesterady for the first time in over a year. I enjoyed having the day off, but not being in all the pain. I have free time now, but I can't even go work out until we figure out what's wrong with me, boo.

I'm so excited for winter break. I have free time to do stuff. I still have work, but with no school I can get more day shifts and still have envenings free! I'm hoping to go skiiing a couple times this break and even get to see people. (sorry I couldn't make movie night the other night, Amy and Heidi) But I should have more time to see people, so I'll try and call some of you soon!

Good luck for those who still have finals!

Stress Free

Wow, how long has it been sense I can say that. I have my major work sample for my teaching due on Thursday. It contains my lessons, rationales, analysis of the pre and post assessments, a paper all about Salem, Salem/Keizer School District, The school, and my classroom and some other papers. It is due at 12:00 noon on Thrusday. I'M DONE!!!!!!! I had it done at about 3:00pm TODAY, TUESDAY! This completley releives all my stress for the rest of teh school year. I really have nothing left now. I just have to go to the couple classes I have left and it's goodbye term II and hello term III! I just had to share the good news. I am an excellent procrastornator and while everyone in my term is going to be up all Wednesday night finishing, I'll be sleeping :)And tomorrow I don't have class until 11, so I'm going to go workout before class. I have to go to a few more classes, but really I don't have anything, so my winter break has practically started! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!!!!!!!!

What have I been up to?

Let's see. I have survived the first 2 weeks of the term, only 8 more to go. (not that I'm counting or anything) My classes are going alright, some are slightly broing and seem really repetitive from some of the classes I've had in the past. My professors all seem really nice. It's fun getting to see people from last year. In some sense it's kind of madening because I have pretty much the same people in all my classes. There's the group I get along with and the group that I don't so much. Really there's only a couple people that are frusterating beyond belief, but they just tick us off so much that all you want to do is vent about them. (Kay Kay-those would be our dancig pencil teachers!) At least we have a venting group so we don't bottle it up! My proud accomplishment is so far I have been able to keep up on my homework. I have finished everything that is due up to Thursday at this point. I just have a couple of things left to do for my literacy class on Thursday including finding a book to do my running records. That's not hard, I just have to get my butt to the library to get the book.

I am staying up in Salem again for this week. I've been here sense Friday while my Aunt and Uncle are in Canada. The only really bummer is driving back to Corvallis on days that I work, but part of the money my aunt payed me was for fuel, so that's not a big problem. But it does take time to drive between the two cities. Tuesday will the carziest day of the week because I'll be in my elementary school all day, attend the staff meeting afterwards, so be there until about 4:15, then drive to Corvallis to work until close, then drive back to Salem. I'm going to be so ready for bed that night.

I get to go up to Washington for the weekend and that should be fun. I'll be busy up there, but it will be a nice change of pace. Lots of driven but I think I'll be able to pull it off! I think I can use the weekend off from work. Especially sense I asked for the weekend off, so instead of just given me three shifts instead of four I have all four consolidated in less time. I opened on Sunday and I close Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I will be looking forward to the change od pace!

Well I'm sure I've bored some of you to death, but oh well. Life will go on! Have a great week!

free movies

You didn't hear this from me...but Hollywood is eliminating a lot of our vhs movies. We have to pull them off the shelf and get rid of them. We can't sell them, we were told to just throw them out. So I don't know the exact date but over the next couple days our garbage can will be full of vhs movies that are fine we just can't sell them. We are eliminating all but like 20 of our aname movies, so I know that some of you out there like those, so if any one is interested I'll try and let you know when they are hitting the garbage.

LIfe in Salem

Well I guess it's been a while sense I updated so I might as well. I'm living up in salem for a week and a half taking care of my aunts house and the two monsters that live here. I'll bee here til Saturday or Sunday. My uncle's on a rafting trip and should be home by one of those days. In a little bit I think I'm going to take the dogs for a walk. It's interesting because I have to walk them seperatingly. Long story but one has lots of energy and the other is over 100 pounds and doesn't move quite as fast. There good dogs though. It has been fun having this big house to myself. It makes me want my own house! The not so fun part is driving back to Corvallis for work and what not. But I guess I need to start getting use to the commute since I'm students teaching here in Salem.

I actuallly got to have some fun over labor day weekend for a change. Ryan took me camping with some family friends of his to Pulina lake, over past bend towards le grand. It was so much fun. I really haven't been camping in a long time. The drive over was quite the experience when we hit a deer going over the pass. The truck was still driveable but a lot of damage. It doesn't look to bad but when you get close you can see all the little stuff that adds up. The deer jumped right over the guard rail infront of the truck. Wasn't even time to take the foot off the gas so we hit it at about 60 MPH. Where we were camping we meet this couple Jack and Joanne. Crazy people but a lot of fun. There from Redmond and we went to their house with them and they took us out to lunch in Bend. He is one of those crazy old guys who have story after story and joke after joke. It was a lot of fun. It was fun to be able to get away for a while. And I got to make S'mores! It's pretty much the best thing about camping, and roasting hot dogs!

That pretty much sums up what I have been up to lately. Working a lot, oh how fun. 101 hours on the last paycheck, and the way the stupid pay period worked only 2 hours were overtime. That sucks. Not ready for school at all. I have been doing really good with working out reguallarly. My mom got us memberships at TYimberhill, and I love that place. So I go there pretty much everyday. Not as much this last week, since I've been in Salem. But I think I'm going to run with Kodi, and then cooldown when I walk Jackson. Well I might as well go do it instead of just talking about it. Hope everyone has been having a good week.

life

Isn't it strange to think about but everyone lives a life, yet no one's is exactly the same. Even when people are living together they still have completly different lives. You run into the same people and different people. The people you will only see once in your life and then ones that will be in your life forever. We have some similar situations but none are exact. We tell people that "we understand" or "I know what your going through", but do we truely? No matter how well you know someone there is always going to be something you don't know. It's just the way things are. And it's the same for everyone. When you sit down and think about your life there are good memories, bad memories, embarrising moment, the times you cried and the times you've laughed. Everyone has some type of moment. You won't rememeber all the moments but sometimes it weird which ones you do remember and which ones you don't. Everyone has that life changing event, but it's different for everyone. Have you every thought about how if one decision you made was different it could impact your whole life? It doesn't even have to be a major life changing event. What if you would have said hi to that person that walked by? Could they have become a life long friend or just a hi to put a smile on someones face? Everyone has a different life, but sometimes even the simple things can make someones day. A hug with no words spoken, a smile as you pass by a stranger, or sitting down to have a hart to hart. When you sit down and think about your life there are the hard moment that even today can make you cry, but at the same time those moments helps create who you are as a person today. The thoughts might make you cry but at the same time you know you wouldn't have changed them. At the same time you have the good memories that with the simplest thought you can't help but smile. You might be sitting in class when the thought crosses your mind and everyone wonders why you have a smile on your face. Those random busts of laughter when you think about a conversations with one of your friends. All of these momories help make up who you are. Even the friends that were there for certain moments might have different memories of the same thing. All these moments help define who you are as a person. Everyone needs to be able to look back and have memories that bring tears to your eyes and those that will make you laugh out loud while standing in a crowd full of stragers. Everyone will have their own some might be of the same event but everyone is their own and no one should ever be able to take those memroeis from you because they are yours to cherish everytime they cross through your mind, good or bad those memories help define you as a person.

Classes are OVER!!!!!!!!!

So, in case you can't guess from the title my summer classes are now official over and my life can begin. One goal for the next week. Try to unpack my stuff! Wouldn't that be cool to just open a drawer to get clothes instead of going to the garage to flip a coin about what is in what bag?! My classes went well they just cause me a lot of stress between them and work, but their DONE!

Not much else. This next part id mostly for Amy. My work schedule next week:
Tuesday off
Wednesday- 8am-6pm
Thrisday- 12pm-9pm
Friday- 2pm-10pm
Saturday-8am-6pm
How sweet is that, no closing shifts. I'm not sure when the last time that happened was.

I'm all giddy right now and can't stop moving and smiling! I think it might have to do with the 3.5 hours of sleep and the two energy drinks at this point. I don't know what the deal is but the caffine free drinks shoot my right over the moon. I'll probably have another one at work and hope not to crash until after work. But I can sleep in tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone is bouncing off the walls just as much as me!!!!!!!

update

Well I guess I can go ahead and update what's been going on with me the last few weeks.

I finished school on Monday of finals week, never finished before a Thursday before so that was a plus. Spent the rest of the week working and moving back to Corvallis. I am now leaving back in Corvallis and I started this week at the Corvallis store. That's been intereting to say the least so far. Today is my 4th day in a row. It will result in a fairly nice paycheck this go round. I got out with only an 8 hour shift last night. Get to learn how this store closes tonight then I have tomorrow off. Work until 10 on Friday and then have Saturday off. There are definiatly some differences between this store and my old store (right now I still perfre my old store, excpet I love my boss here at this store)

I still haven't really got anything unpacked. I was able to get my bed cleared off enough so I only had to sleep on the couch my first two nights home. I think that today I will try and go through some more of my stuff before work at 4. I need to go through a lot of stuff becuase I think there is a lot of stuff I can probably get rid off, just need to actually go through it. Need to wash my car too. I don't have my car to drive for the next couple of days. I guess it could be worse because while my car is gone I get to drive a truck! Some days it will be my brothers and some my dad's. Either way there diesils and make me happy :)

This weekend I am going to be house sitting in south Corvallis for Ryan's parents. That should be interesting. Ryan and his mom are in Hawaii and Darylle is going camping so I am taking care of the three rowdy dogs. I have been instructed on how to use the tv which involves tivo. I never knew it could be so much fun to pause live tv!

I start my summer classes next Monday. It shouldn't be to bad because the classes are only for three weeks, granted it's from 9:15 am until 3 pm, but hey. I start that next week, I don't know yet what my work schedule is yet but let my know if anyone wants to do anything and I'll try and find some way to work it out. That's probably enough for now. Hope everyones having a great day.

I don't really have anything to do right now, so I thought I'd go ahead and update. Not that much has been going on. I have been doing a lot of homework. It's keeping me busy but I am even ahead in a couple of my classes, so that makes me feel accomplished. I started doing my observations in the school I will be doing my student teaching at. It's at Lamb Elementary in Salem, way in North Salem. It's out past Chemekata, so it's a bit of a drive. I really liked it so far. The school was built 5 years ago so everything in it is really modern, it's pretty neat.

Wednesday I hung out in Corvallis. I was at the library looking for children's books for my literacy class. After I got the books I went to Anthony's house to work on the write up's for them. Anthony and Jim were still at work, so I was able to get some work done. When Anthony got home is put in the new computer in the Samurai, which started right up as soon as he put that in. After that I took him and Jim out to dinner, then we went to Irish bend to do a little wheeling. It was fun, we went straight up an embankment and went through part of the river. It was fun. Then we came back to the house and had strawberries. Yummy.

On Thursday my mom and aunt took me to get my birthday present. We went shopping at Nordstom. It was fun cause it was an exclusive event, they closed the store and it was ticket only. It pays to have an aunt that loves to shop. They served food and alchol. How sweet is that. And I pretty much had a personal shopper the whole time. It was fun, I needed close for my student teaching. I am supose to start looking "professional" when I go to the schools, so I needed some new clothes. I got some cool outfits, I just have to go have them altered, which they do for free. And I got to spend time with my mom and aunt, which we don't do very much.

I've decided I really want to go to the zoo. I haven't been there in a really long time. It's a really random thought but I think it can be fun. I went a few years ago for the chistmas lights, but you can't see any animals, it's literally just riding a train looking at the light displays. I also want to take to train to Seatle and go to a Mariners game. I think it would be a fun vacation and a way to be lazy not driving (or having to pay for the fuel up there)Just a couple random things I would like to do at some point in the next few months hopefully.

Well that's what's been pretty much what's been going on in my life right now. Not super exciting but it's still been fun.
